Stacy Ann Ferguson (born March 27, 1975), better known by her stage name Fergie, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, fashion designer and actress. Yui or her real name is Yui Yoshioka (吉岡 唯) born on March 26, 1986 in Fukuoka, Japan. She is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, actress and music arranger. She grew up in a single-parent family, her father left her mother before she was born. When she was in high school, she began to write songs. Music that inspired her to share with other people in a live street performances. Yui soon dropped out of high school and began to study guitar and songwriting in at a juku private music school in her hometown. To become a professional singer, she took to street performing at Fukuoka's Tenjin Station. These street performances helped Yui to overcome her shyness. Her professional career began in March 2004 when she applied for an audition hosted by Sony Music Japan recommendation by her juku instructors. On December 24, 2004 she released her debut single album "It's Happy Line" under label Leaflet Records. She is currently signed to Studioseven Recording and attached to the talent agency Stardust Promotion.
