abandoned

No clues. No evidence. No answers. No trace.

A bank manager, Mary Walsh (Murphy) drops off her 4-months-relationship boyfriend Kevin (Dean Cain) to a hospital for routine surgery. But when she returns to pick him up, Kevin mysteriously vanished. There's zero records of Kevin in the hospital's administration, and Detective Franklin (Jay Pickett) found nothing that could prove Kevin's existence. Nobody believes Mary's story particularly when she accidentally drops her anti-depression pills on the floor. Mary's then suspected to be mentally unstable. Later on, Mary's approached by a stranger that knows Kevin's whereabouts and demands a $10 billion for an exchange. Mary soon discovers the shocking truth behind Kevin's disappearance.

It's sad to say this is Brittany Murphy's final movie before her death on last December. This is not her best film though. All I can say that this movie is simple with no ambiguity of the plot. There's nothing out of the ordinary in Abandoned. Murphy's makeup was overdone due to the state of her health. However, Murphy was the main reason I watched this movie.
Overall rating: 6/10
